About Pure Pastoral
Our Mission
Nestled in the rugged heart of Far Western NSW, Pure Pastoral was founded by Caitlin Harvey & Hamish Congdon. We set out to demonstrate that not only was it possible to raise and finish premium quality beef in the Western Division, but that it was possible whilst running a Bos Taurus breed.
Pure Pastoral is run alongside Alina Poll Herefords, our registered stud. Together they represent our deep commitment to agricultural progression, the Hereford breed and the craft of raising truly exceptional beef.

Our Cattle
Our Hereford herd roams across vast, semi-arid country, grazing on native pastures and mulga scrub. This unique environment imparts a rich, distinctive flavour on the meat - one that speaks of the land it comes from.
We manage our herds using holistic and regenerative practices that support both the health of the animals and the resilience of the landscape.
Our cattle are entirely paddock raised and finished, never set foot in a feedlot and are free from antibiotics and artificial hormones.
Our current prime mob had been offered a ration of lupins and oats, in paddock, to prevent them losing condition during a dry spell in early 2025. We’re proud that they’ve still been finished entirely on pasture over the last 4-6 months and look forward to all future animals being entirely pasture fed and finished.
It’s our pleasure to present to you beef with genetic input from premium stud lines such as Wirruna, Tobruk and Oldfields.
Every decision we make, from genetic selection to grazing input is grounded in respect for the land, our cattle and people who value authentic, quality beef.
